Sun Joe MJ401E This is one of the best little mowers that I have tried. It has 3 settings for height.
It sounds like a fan when operated.
I received the Lawn Mower at last monht and mowed with it the first time today. I buy this lawn mover because it was light, 28 lbs, and the cutting height can be adjusted to 2.5 inches, which is the highest of any small, lightweight lawnmower that I could find on the internet. I needed a light lawn mover as I am female, 63, and have COPD (a lung disease).
As I live in area where temperatures are over 100 in the summer and humidity is 20% the grass needs to be cut minimally at 2.5 inches to remain healthy. Previously I had a side discharge electric mower from B&D which was great but was 12-14 lbs heavier and with a full bag of grass really tired me out. Even though the Sun Joe has a cut width of only 14 inches, it took me the same amount of time to cut my lawn with the Sun Joe as with the 18 inch cutting width of the B&D.
Guess I was moving faster. When I was finish I did not have to come inside and rest up but went and started a load of laundry, showered and am now writing this. For me and anyone who wants a very easy to push lawn mower, this is great and I recommend it. The product manuel is not the best however. Instructions on how to attach the grass catcher are just wrong. To attach the grass catcher lift up the rear door and fit the top of the grass catcher just under and flush with the top of the rear door. Make sure the sides of the grass catcher fit within the sides of the rear door.
Once I figured this out it was extremely easy. Also the manuel doesn’t tell you how to adjust the cutting height of the mower. To do this turn the lawn mower on its side. You will see the wheel axels are lying in one of 3 grooves. For a higher cut move the axel to a lower groove and do this for all 4 wheels. As the axels are spring loaded this is very simple to do. Further to turn the machine on, push in the safety lock and push up on the switch lever, once the engine starts remove your finger from the safety lock. The lock stays depressed until you let go of the switch lever. Other than the bad manuel,
This is a great little machine and has plenty of power. I would recommend this mower.
